Tiffani and Gabe

Blogged by Ryan!

Tonight Rose and I went out to Timm Ranch to take Tiffani and Gabe's engagement photos. They were so cool to work with. Rose and I have never been out to Timm ranch which rocked because every time we go someplace new, it feels like we get fresh ideas on what to work with. Starting with this awesome tree:

Timm ranch has over 3,000 acres so our next stop we had to drive quite a ways. Since there was a lot of grasslands and trees, Rose and I wanted to get something different. Gabe knew a guy who lived out on the ranch and he had this AWESOME old barn. The lighting was perfect! Check out this photo, this is what we call a "happy accident" because even though the flash didn't fire, it turned out great!

Can't wait for your wedding!

PUG (Pictage User Group) shoot in Sacramento

A group of fellow photographers who use Pictage (www.pictage.com) and I, had sort of a group "shoot out" with models in downtown Sacramento on Monday night after our meeting. I didn't really shoot much but I found one photo that I thought was pretty interesting.

On the Farm

One of the things that I love best about my job is that I never know what kind of cool things I'm going to find at a session, like tractors,

old milk barns,

and tire swings.

So much fun!

The Lowrie Gang

1.5 half hours of photography fun! I haven't worked with these guys in a while and we got some great shots at Andrews Park.

They were really hamming it up at first, but I managed to grab this shot in between the craziness.

Down at the creek in the sweet afternoon light.

I can't believe Cody sat still long enough for this.

What happens when princesses pick their own pose. I think Megan (who claims to be the "good one") is super cute and destined to be a model.

and finally, a quiet minute for Maddy.

I think the promise of ice cream at the end of the session really helped Ryan and I out today. We also had a lot of "assistants", so thanks to Aunt B, Alisson, and Keylee.

Wyatt's Senior Pictures

Blogged by Ryan!

Tonight Rose and I headed to Vacaville to shoot Wyatt's senior pictures! We saw our friend Ryan Bates and told him we were going to use "his alley" for some shots because Rose and I couldn't pass up the opportunities! :) The first two images are from the alley and the last two are taken at the park. Wyatt was such a good sport and we wish him the best of luck!

Liz and Jose-We will on May 3!

Blogged by Ryan!

The weather today was really unpredictable so Rose and I weren't sure we were going to shoot Liz and Jose's engagement session this evening. Instead, we went out to dinner to go over some details on their wedding day. The weather seemed to clear up by the time we were done eating so we thought we would try and do a quick session around the area of the restaurant! You don't usually find photographers in a Tahoe Joe's parking lot taking photos :) Here are a few of my favorites!

Tawnya and Nathaniel - They Will on August 16, 2008

Ryan and I rode up to St. Helena on Sunday for the engagement session of Tawnya and Nathaniel. We had the grounds of the stunning Meadowood Resort completely to ourselves. I think we captured the really romantic side of them. My favorites are below.

A tricky move, but done to perfection:

Of course we had to grab a family photo with their baby, Burton. Ryan and I both fell in love in him. He is such a little teddy bear.

We had a terrific time with you guys and we can't wait for your wedding! View slideshow *here*.

Hillary's Senior Portraits

Hillary is graduating from Dixon High this year. We went to her grandmother, Katie's, house in Winters. This is the third time I've been out here, the first for a wedding reception I photographed several years ago, then Hillary's aunt, Karlie's, engagement session. I sure wish I had all this in my backyard....

I love all the foliage around the lake, but not so much all the land mines left by the geese.

Thanks to my godson, Brandon, for being my lighting assistant today. Brandon may be my next assistant in training - he had some great ideas inspired by Americas Next Top Model.

Hillary's slideshow is **here**.

Rick & Ruth are married!

My good friend, and prior employer, Rick and his lovely fiance', Ruth, got married on Sunday. While I facilitated the photography that day by Ryan and my friend Barton, I really didn't do much beyond being the friend with a camera. This means that I had an absolutely terrific time being a guest at a wedding!

This photo of Rick, Ruth, and Sam was taken by Barton.

To R&R, I hope you guys had a terrific honeymoon. Your slideshow will be posted soon.

Britni's Senior Session

It was definitely difficult to pick a few shots to post on the blog of Britni. She brought several different outfits including her letterman jacket and softball uniform.

As soon as I saw her purple tank top I knew we had to wander over to these great matching flowers.

We did several softball shots using the backstop at the park but this image caught my eye so I did some selective coloring and applied a grunge texture.

Thanks to Britni's mom, Randi, for carting around all the clothes and props. Here's the *slideshow*.

Ian's Senior Portraits

It was another great spring day at Andrews Park for Ian's session. Thanks to Ian's mom, Debbie, and sister, Simone for being my lighting assistants and sylists. Also, Simone for jumping in for a couple sibling shots.

I just love this lopsided grin!

Thanks for being a good sport, Ian. Here's the *slideshow*.

Sam's Senior Session

Ryan and I met Sam at Andrews Park today for her senior session. Like her brother, Josh, last year, Sam was totally comfortable in front of the camera and was up for doing anything. Ryan's favorites are below. Here's the *slideshow*.

Eden Miller - 8 months

I haven't had a chance to edit our entire session but a few images caught my eye, so I wanted to give Jillian and Aaron a quick peek at what we did last night.

Eden is such a happy, relaxed baby, it was hard to get a photo without her smiling.

Big sister, Kiana, made me work to get that gorgeous natural smile of hers. I had to follow her through the child size wooden maze at Andrews Park with my gear. It was worth it when I got this expression.

And finally, a sweet portrait with momma.

Here's the *slideshow*.

Kisses are the messengers of love

Marisa and Clem - they will - August 9, 2008 - Jefferson Street Mansion, Bencia

Ryan's favorites from our session at Marisa and Clem's neighborhood in San Francisco. Their super cute pooch, Sadie, joined us for some shots. Here's the *slideshow*
