Trashy Photos
Ha, ha, made ya look..... :) I wanted to post up a few more images that I liked from the "trash the dress" shoot in Old Sacramento last Monday. My buddy, Carlos Rivera, featured me on his blog with a little interview and one of my other favorite photos from the day. You can check out Carlos' blog by clicking the collage below.

Mike and Arleen's wedding reception at Hs Lordships Restaurant
I couldn't resist putting this one image up from Mike and Arleen's wedding yesterday. This was taken at Hs Lordship's Restaurant in Berkeley where their reception was held, and that is the Golden Gate in the background.
Mike and Arleen have to be the sweetest couple we have worked with. They eloped when they got married ten years ago and decided to renew their vows and have the traditional ceremony that they didn't have back then. Arleen met with me well over a year ago when she started planning everything. I was actually quite sad when it was all over because we had to say goodbye. Arleen, I'll miss talking with you about everything! We're going to have to find some other reason to get together now. Ryan and I wish you the best of everything - you surely deserve it.

Tehya's Six Month Baby Portrait Session - Dixon California
I recently got to visit with Tehya at her house for her 6 mos. photos.

She really enjoyed being outdoors and the weather couldn't have been more perfect.
Here's a shot from her awesomely decorated room with polka-dots on the walls.
Tehya's slideshow is *here*.

David Jay Speaks to PPSV
Ryan and I were really excited to hear David Jay, awesome trend-setting photographer from Santa Barbara, speak at our PPSV (Prof. Photographers of the Sacramento Valley) meeting last week. A group of some of our photographer buddies joined us for dinner first - Allison Stahl, Carmen Salazar, Penny Sylvia, Monica Toohey-Krause, Sharon Hoyt, Aherne Delpero (site coming soon), Barton Brown, Carlos Rivera and, last but not least, the legendary Nathan Smith.

It was great hanging out with you guys talking shop - we can't wait to get together again.
A couple of us die-hards kept DJ up until the wee hours picking his brain. He is very generous in sharing his knowledge with other photogs and we are very appreciative of the time he spent with us.

Christmas Special 2007
I'm going to be offering a great portrait special for the holidays. In addition to the special, everyone who participates and brings me one the printed cards (as seen below) to their session will have a chance to win a 16x20 canvas gallery wrap from their session delivered in time for Christmas.
You can stop into the studio during the Wine Stroll taking place this Saturday from 4 - 7 pm to pick up a card. Make sure to say "Hi" to Jennifer Sarley and Kim & Vic Poole who will be hosting the winery for me since we have a wedding that day. It's great to have friends like them to help me out! Thanks, guys, I appreciate it!

Vancouver and Mexico Vacation

I was lucky enough to have been able to take two mini-vacations in August. I went to Vancouver first and then to Mexico. Both were beautiful and I really loved having the opportunity to visit both. I put together two collages of images from both places that I think really express what my memories of both places were like. Of course, there's always the shadow self portrait....

Seattle and Vancouver Vacation

I am officially taking a mini-vacation for five days, starting early tomorrow, and will be in Seattle and Vancouver through August 5. I will return phone calls and emails beginning August 7. I may have internet connection to post to the blog and hopefully will get some images as cool as this one of the Space Needle.

Blake at 4 mos.
Baby Blake is one of the cute little guys in my Bebe' Collection and was in last month for his 4 mos. session (we missed 3 due some illnesses). Blake has a big brother named Brennan who was not very happy participating in having his photo taken this time around but I think we did pretty well grabbing some family shots also. You can view Blake's slideshow *here*.

Sunday Drive
Check out the road and the scenery:

Making the ride awesome:

Having my truck really pays off when friends need to use it to move. My friend, Nathan, made the automobile exchange with me on Saturday so I had his BMW to use all day Sunday. I absolutely took the best advantage of this opportunity to grab my friend, Denise, and drive up to Lake Berryessa through all the country curvy backroads. I still love my truck, but boy is that car easy to love also. Hey, Nathan, I hope you're reading this and get to see what your car was up to today - I bet you're jeolous!

Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia
On June 2, Jessica and Eric married at the Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia. The mansion is absolutely gorgeous and seems a like a real hidden gem nestled on the top of a hill overlooking the bay. The weather was perfect so we took some time to head down to the waterfront for a few portraits. You can see the slideshow *here*.

The Mountain Terrace in Woodside
I've been a bad blogger, I know. Ryan and I have been so busy with jobs I haven't kept up with posting about them....I'm going to attempt to catch up by starting back with Jennie & Scott's Wedding at the beautiful Mountain Terrace in Woodside. View the slideshow *here*.
We met a fabulous florist, Amy Burke of Amy Burke Designs. If you searching for a florist for your bay area wedding you should check out her website at www.amyburkedesigns.com.

Trashing the Dress = Newsworthy
A growing trend in photography is making it mainstream. Click HERE to watch the news clip.

While Ryan and I haven't technically "trashed" a dress, we have had some great "day after" sessions during which our couples don their wedding gear and we go out the next day for some relaxed portraits in a cool location. I think these sessions are a great idea and make some great artistic portraits of the bride and/or couple. I've had a few brides express an interest in this concept and we are looking forward to it. If you are interested in creatively expressing yourself this way (or know someone who might be), give us a call (even if we didn't do the wedding), and we'll plan something fun!

Emily and Andy's Wedding

We photographed the wedding of Emily and Andy on the 19th. It was a great spring day for a wedding. The wedding took place in Dixon at St. Peter's and the reception was held at a private residence in Citrus Heights. The reception was filled with a lot of color and great little details. Dixon May Fair Parade

On May 12, Ryan and I photographed the 132nd annual May Fair Parade in Dixon. It is one of funnest projects to work on. We get to see all of the behind the scenes preparations, eat a terrific pancake breakfast, see a lot of our friends and clients, watch the parade from the grandstand, and play around at the fair. Definitely more fun than work! Please click **here** to view the newsletter and access the link to the slideshow. Enjoy!
